《52 Hz, I Love You》是魏導繼《海角七號》後，暌違９年再拍的音樂、愛情電影，企圖藉由節奏明快貼近生活的預言式敘事方式，加上角色個性鮮明與琅琅上口的音樂旋律，讓觀眾找回「愛」的勇氣與美好。他表示，《52 Hz》是10年前就有的構想，劇本更是早在拍完《海角七號》後就有初版。《KANO》海外宣傳時的某天，他因時差失眠，把劇本拿出來修改，意外種下拍攝契機。
